Many Intoxilyzer sequences or processes are commenced by typing "Esc Esc" on the keyboard. A menu comes up that permits the qualified technician to choose a particular letter such as "A", "B", "C", "D", "E" (change date and time), "F" (flow monitor), "P" (printer test), "R" (recall), "V" subject record recall), "S" (Configure standard), "Q" (quit). There are many hidden Esc Esc sequences and password protected Esc Esc sequences that permit access to the inner workings of the software, including the calibration curve, resetting the internal standards, and resetting air flow calibration. Negligent resetting by a local police officer of some of this software can dramatically affect the reliability of an Intoxilyzer.
